Give overview of medical problems in dentistry, insight in when to refer and what questions to ask.

Objectives
  • To discuss a range of medical problems and the impact they can have on the delivery of dental care.
  • Consider the barriers to care for patients with cognitive impairments eg dementia.
  • Consider issues regarding capacity and consent.

  • Improved medical history taking.
  • Greater confidence in managing patients with medical complexity.
