Currently developing a specialist interest in endodontics and in final stages of a part time MSc at UCLan.

Has been an Educational Supervisor on the Lancaster scheme (2013-2015) and currently the Aintree scheme (2015-2016).

Aims: To allow the Foundation Dentist to feel comfortable in diagnosing and treating dental trauma.

 

Assessment: Interactive participation during seminar. Following the seminar reflection upon current protocols, materials and techniques and how to implement these in practice.

Objectives

Review aetiology and terminology.

Discuss treatment for each of the most common dental traumas.

Look at how best to maintain pulpal vitality.

Describe best practice regarding review protocols.

Assess the clinical and biological outcomes of traumatic dental injuries.

To gain an overview of current developments in the treatment of dental trauma.

Analyse current treatment methods for dental trauma.

Assess current review protocols for dental trauma.

Review current techniques and materials used in practice for optimal treatment outcomes following dental trauma.
