Aims
  • To provide an oral medicine update for dental hygienists & dental therapists
Objectives

By the end of the event, delegates will:

  • Recognise the normal & abnormal anatomical features of the oral mucosal/oral cavity
  • Describe how abnormalities of the oral mucosa/oral cavity can occur
  • Demonstrate how to undertake a comprehensive extra & intraoral examination
  • Recognise clinical presentation & management of suspicious oral lesions including premalignancy and oral cancer
  • Refer patients following the correct referral pathways with regard to medico-legal responsibility
