Aims

To highlight various issues that must be considered to provide a safe and effective strategy for managing your patients with endodontic pathology, whilst working in a Covid-19 compliant environment.

Objectives
  • Understand triaging of endodontic cases, diagnosis and treatment planning with the aim of minimizing treatment time and number of visits.
  • Recognise the role of vital pulp therapy to avoid the need for pulpectomy
  • Review the clinical management of cases with PPE, what is necessary and what is practical!
  • Clarify the role of analgesics and antibiotics when AGP is not necessary or possible.
Learning outcomes

Following the session, the learner will be aware of strategies to consider when planning the treatment of endodontic disease in general practice in the Covid-19 era.
