Aims
  • That the attendees understand the driving legislation behind NHS treatments and claims and specifically the "Contracts" (3361) and "Charges" (3477) legislation.
  • That they know of the relevant NHS bodies administering and monitoring NHS Dentistry
  • That they know of the relevant legislation and how it is enforced relating to NHS/private boundaries and submission of forms and data.
Objectives

That they understand key legal terminology and specifically definitions of:

  • Course of treatment
  • Mandatory treatment
  • Splitting
  • Urgent treatment

They will achieve this by an interactive discussion investigating their understanding of these words with an open debate on case studies and examples of erroneous claiming including GDC cases

 

Learning Outcomes:

  • The attendees will understand their responsibility for accurate claiming
  • They will know the important definitions within the regulations and how these are interpreted
  • They will understand the pitfalls and controls around the regulations
  • They will appreciate the need for accurate and full contemporaneous clinical records.
