  • To prepare the Foundation Dentists for the financial aspects of dentistry
Objectives

Make the Foundation Dentists more aware of:

  • The advantages of having a formal associaye contract
  • Understand the principle features of associate pay calculations
  • Their obligations to partake in the annual reconcilliation report via the NHS portal
  • Their obligations when self-employed with regards to accounts, tax returns and the payment of taxes

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this lecture participants will:

  • Be aware of the main clauses within an associateship agreement
  • Be able to calculate their own pay as an associate
  • Be able to keep basic accounting records as an associate
  • Be aware of the timings of paying tax as an associate, the likely amount due and methods of saving to pay this tax
