Aims

To increase predictability of your dentistry diagnosis and management of TMD, which splint to use and for how long.

Objectives
  • To understand the basic principles of occlusion and how they relate to general dentistry.
  • To understand how to carry out a simple TMJ/Occlusal examination and how to incorporate it into a general examination.
  • To understand how to make a complete diagnosis including TMJ-occlusal diagnosis.
  • Be aware if the different splints available and their appropriate usage.
  • Understand how to move forward with treatment once splint therapy is complete.
