DescriptionThis webinar for senior members of the dental team is the first in a series of a mental health promotion training programme that uses the Making Every Contact Count (MECC) approach to embed conversations in every day practice.

Aims

To develop skills to support others in maintaining their mental wellbeing.

Objectives

At the end of the session the participants will be able to:

  • Identify what is meant by mental health, mental wellbeing and mental illness, including recognised definitions, models and frameworks
  • Define the MECC approach and explore how this can be applied in health and care settings
Learning outcomes

Participants will be able to recognise definitions for mental health and implement the MECC approach in the practice setting.
