Description | This face to face course will introduce delegates to working as a performer in NHS Dentistry in England, enabling them to work safely and ethically within the rules and regulations of NHS Dentistry. |
Additional information | Registration from 8.45am Please note there are 2 parts to this course and you must be able to attend both, Part 1 is on Wednesday 9th April 2025 9am - 4pm. Aims | To - Introduce delegates to working as a performer in NHS dentistry in England, working within the regulatory framework for the profession, Dental Performers List and Voluntary Undertakings or Conditions.
- Provide an overview of the rules and regulations of providing and claiming for ‘Mandatory Services’ within an NHS Dental Contract and the duty of care NHS performers have for their patients

Objectives | - Give a who's who overview of the regulatory bodies’ dentists need to be aware of.
- Identify the importance of compliance with undertakings
- Discuss the relevant regulations to working as a performer
- Explain how Dentistry is set up in the UK and the context of the NHS
- Indicate the guidance that influences the clinical decisions you make and are judged against
- Provide an overview of the rules and regulations of providing and claiming for ‘Mandatory Services’ within an NHS Dental Contract
- Interpret appropriate claiming for treatment
- Recognise the guidance available to dentists
- Illustrate what treatments are expected to be provided and the rules and regulations associated with claiming for courses of treatment within an NHS contract.
- When it is (and is not) appropriate to claim multiple courses of treatment related to ‘Phased treatment planning’ within Clinical Pathways.
- The rules and ethics of mixing NHS and Private treatment.

Learning outcomes | By the end of the presentation delegates will be able to - Demonstrate what is expected as a performer of NHS Dentistry
- Work ethically and safely within the rules and regulations of NHS Dentistry.
- Apply the process they need to complete to get performers list registration
