Aims

To provide a general overview of MIH.

To cover the general assessment and treatment planning options in children with MIH.

Objectives
  • Describe the current understanding of the potential causes of molar incisor hypomineralisation.
  • Discuss the diagnosis and management options for first permanent molars affected by MIH in children.
  • Recognise what treatment options are available for anterior teeth affected by MIH in young people.
Learning outcomes

At the end of this presentation the participants will have the confidence of the general practitioner when assessing, diagnosing, and discussing treatment options for children with MIH.
