Aims

This course aims to explore the application of deciduous pre-formed crowns through the Hall Technique, encompassing the placement of separators, sizing, crown cementation, and effective airway management. Additionally, it focuses on the proper utilisation of Silver Diamine Fluoride, emphasising its appropriate use and the associated consent process.

Objectives
  • Revisit knowledge of deciduous tooth anatomy
  • Discuss the indications and contraindications use of deciduous pre-formed crowns
  • Practice the placement of deciduous preformed crowns using the Hall Technique including placement of separators, sizing and cementation of crown and airway management.
  • Identify appropriate equipment for deciduous extractions and discuss and demonstrate techniques.
  • Introduce Silver Diamine Fluoride and its use in caries prevention.
Learning outcomes

Participants will be able to confidently place deciduous pre-formed crowns for the Hall Technique including placement of separators, sizing and cementation of crown and airway management. They will also be able to appropriately apply Silver Diamine Fluoride and the associated consent process.
