To increase predictability of your dentistry diagnosis and management of TMD, which splint to use and for how long.

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

Delegates will have an understanding of

· Why occlusion impacts on every aspect of dentistry

· How understanding occlusion will make your dentistry more predictable, efficient and long lasting

· Which patients are safe to treat and which to be wary of

· How to discuss occlusal problems with your patients

· Why understanding occlusion will allow you to do more of the dentistry you want to do and enable you to stand out from the crowd

Objectives

To understand the basic principles of occlusion and how they relate to general dentistry

· To understand how to carry out a simple TMJ/Occlusal examination and how to incorporate it into a general examination

· To understand how to make a complete diagnosis including TMJ-occlusal diagnosis

· Be aware of the different splints available and their appropriate usage

· Understand how to move forward with treatment once splint therapy is complete
