DescriptionThe course is aimed at qualified General Dental Practitioners (GDPs). It meets the GDC requirements for enhanced CPD. Delegates can attend with an assisting dental nurse to enhance their skills and will receive verifiable CPD for the session.

The course fee is £275.00 for Dentists. This fee includes the practical sessions and consumables, a sandwich lunch and refreshments. Dental nurses can attend free of charge when a delegate fee is paid.

Places on this course are limited to 12 and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. The course closing date is 8th July 2024.

Registration starts at 8.45am.

Cancellation policy: A refund, less £35 administration fee, is guaranteed for cancellations received up to four weeks before the start of the course (21st June at 5pm). No refund will be made for cancellations received after this date or for failure to attend. Substitutions fulfilling the criteria may be made at any time prior to the course start. A full refund of the course fee will be given if the University needs to cancel the course at any stage.

Aims

The session will comprehensively discuss the restoration of root filled teeth.

A seminar and practical based session in which delegates will be shown how to prepare posterior teeth for indirect onlays. Also, delegates will be shown how to place fibre posts in plastic teeth and restore them with composite cores in order to receive a crown.

Learning outcomes

By the end of the event, delegates will be able to:

  • Explain the importance of why we should still be saving teeth.
  • Describe the basic principles of RCT.
  • Explain the importance of restoration after root filling a tooth.
  • Identify non-post retained options to restore root filled teeth.
  • Describe Interim Restoration of the Root Treated Teeth.
  • Recall post retained options to restore root filled teeth.
