• To give potential Supervising Dentists an overview of the programme and requirements
• Talk through the application process for IDG programme.
• Further understand the requirements of the Supervising Dentist role and the personal, practical, and professional implications of undertaking it.
• Talk about work-based assessments and why they are important in your role.

• Reflect on their ability and readiness to undertake the role of Supervising Dentist within their current practice, realistically appraising pertinent personal, environmental, and professional opportunities and constraints.
• Identify further activities that could be undertaken to prepare them to fulfil the role of Supervising Dentist effectively.

• Have a better understanding of the IDG pathway and process.
• Be fully aware of their role in the process.
• Be able to carry out Work Based Assessments on the IDG to confirm if they are at required level to work independently as an NHS dentist.
• Be aware of support they can access to help the IDG develop.
• Identify local resources which may support their further development into the role of Supervising Dentist
