Aims | Delegates will gain an insight into how human factors affect our decision making. The impact of these factors on patient safety. Delegates will be able to understand and manage human factors to maintain and enhance patient safety. Delegates will look at 12 principles that create a high performance environment. | ||
Objectives | Delegates will gain an understanding of how to develop resilience and how to excel in managing a team in a high pressure environment. Attendees will gain knowledge of: · Human Factors principles · Systems Engineering Initiative for Patient Safety (SEIPS) · PSIRF · The impact of harm of patients, families, practitioners and organisations · The systems which underpin safety culture | ||
Learning outcomes | · Attendees will differentiate between non technical skills and systems factors and design principles which underpin Human Factors Science Attendees will be able to use SEIPS to identify systems which contribute to risk and actions which lead to improvement. | ||
