  • To provide an overview of various aspects of periodontal diseases
  • To discuss the current classification system of periodontal diseases
  • To discuss the available techniques, challenges and trends in periodontal management
  • To discuss current LUDH referral and treatment acceptance criteria
Objectives

To enable candidates to:

  • Diagnose periodontal diseases and devise treatment plans with a patient-centred approach
  • Gain understanding of the risk and prognostic factors, and the link with systemic disease
  • Understand the role of adjunctive therapies especially antimicrobials and their indications for use
  • Consider the available surgical procedures in the management of periodontal disease
  • Undertake appropriate referral to Consultant led services
