Learning outcomes

At the end of this presentation, delegates should

  • Be more aware of the need to improve and maintain inclusivity in dental education and understand the particular stimuli for change in Newcastle.
  • Have awareness of some of the projects designed to decolonise the Newcastle curriculum.
  • Understand how cultural competence benefits learners, teachers and patients.
  • Briefly outline whether a decolonised curriculum is an inclusive one.
  • Think about your own institution and its strategy to improve inclusivity in the learning environment (top up or bottom down).
