DescriptionThese courses are designed specifically for dental professionals to enable all of the team to meet appropriate level mandatory training requirements in Safeguarding of Children and Vulnerable Adults with minimal disruption to practices.
Additional information

The program consists of bespoke courses for all the dental team on basic awareness of safeguarding children and safeguarding vulnerable adults and the role of dental professionals in cases of abuse.

Level 1 courses are open to all members of the team and are intended to be an entry level requirement for level 2 courses.

Aims
  • To update teams on current legislation and practice of Safeguarding children and Vulnerable Adults and gain knowledge of context of Safeguarding within a dental practice
Objectives
  • Understand the legal and historical context of safeguarding children and young people / vulnerable adults
  • Have knowledge of the categories and their definitions, signs and symptoms of child / vulnerable adult abuse
  • Know what to do if you’re worried a child / vulnerable adult is being abused
  • Understand why and how to share information in relation to safeguarding children and young people / vulnerable adults
  • Develop an awareness of solutions and barriers to safeguarding children / vulnerable adults within health
  • Gain knowledge of the context of child / vulnerable adult protection within a health environment
