3 hours CPD will be provided by Consultant Orthodontists / Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry for the whole dental team & will provide an opportunity to bring participants up to date in such topics as:

  • Dental trauma
  • Hypodontia
  • Unerupted incisors
  • Dental anomolies including dilacerated incisors, supernumeracy & impacted teeth
  • Hypoplastic/carious first molar extractions
  • Autotransplantation of teeth
  • Use of CBCT in diagnosis/management of complex problems

Aims
  • Participants will be given the information to refer patients with dental trauma to orthodontic/paediatric dentistry (multidisciplinary) clinics appropriately & possible outcomes will be discussed
  • Speakers will discuss with the help of clinical cases about missing teeth & the need to refer to multidisciplinary clinics in secondary care
  • Participants will be provided information about different dental anomalies & their management so that the dental team can refer to secondary care for advice and management in the patient’s best interest
  • Use of CBCT as a diagnostic tool will be described so that patient management can be improved by using technology

  • Participants will be able to refer patients appropriately & discuss possible outcomes for the patient
