Aims

This session aims to help delegates:

  • Understand the potential impact of the pandemic on the population’s oral health
  • Have an understanding of the impact of the pandemic on primary and secondary dental health services
  • To be able to state a diagnosis based on history, examination and special tests
Objectives
  • Recognise and understand how to manage patients' symptoms, needs and demands in the Covid era
  • Review how to assess patients systematically around Covid
  • Modify current practice in relation to best clinical guidelines under the new covid protocols
  • Understand the importance of communicating the treatment plan well to colleagues and patients
Learning outcomes

Following the session participants will:

  • Be able to prioritise patients based on their clinical need, risk of COVID complications, and pandemic fear.
  • Have the ability to provide treatment plans that are compliant with current official guidance while maintaining excellent clinical care.
