DescriptionThe Dental Foundation Study Day Programme for the DFT Year 2014 - 2015 has been compiled and modified in the light of the continuous trainer and trainee evaluation over many years.
Additional information

The programme is structured in line with the COPDEND Curriculum for UK Dental Foundation Programme Training Guidelines and is designed to enhance self-directed learning and to complement trainer/trainee tutorials throughout the year. It is hoped that the learning outomes of each study day will enable the trainee to develop a better level of understanding of the workings of the NHS and the profession and that by the end of the DFT year provide the trainee with the motivation and confidence to embark on their chosen career pathway with a greater knowledge and enthusiasm for lifelong learning.

Aims
  • To inform both FDs and their trainers of the ground rules applying to the DFT programme and inform them of the detailed course content and the aims and objectives of the DFT year.
  • To ensure the FD receives an appropriate induction into the practice.
Objectives
  • The FD and DFT Trainer will be clearly focused and have good sound knowledge of ground rules applying to the year both in the practice and on the day release course.
  • The FD will have knowledge of the practice induction procedures and protocols.
