SubjectOral Surgery
DescriptionThis course is a full day hands-on session in oral surgery.
Additional information

Oral surgery is an area where many dental practitioners have difficulties. This course is designed to provide teaching & advice from a surgical specialist, who is regularly involved in postgraduate teaching. The day will initially start with a small number of presentations but later on, will provide surgical demonstrations & hands on opportunities. Pigs' heads will be available to practise flap design, instrumentation, handpiece use & suturing. The well skilled may even be able to extract a pigs tooth! Training will also be given on how to close an oro-antral fistula using a buccal advancement flap.

It is anticipated following the day, that delegates will be more able & confident to provide dento-alveolar surgery for their patients, avoid pitfalls & will be better able to cope with the unexpected.

Delegates should attend in casual wear, as the day is likely to be somewhat "messy".
