To equip the participants with the skills and knowledge to be able to identify, respond to, and report safeguarding concerns in children and vulnerable adults in dental practice

Objectives
  • Be able to identify what is a safeguarding concern in dental practice in children and vulnerable adults
  • Be able to respond appropriately to patients and their parents/carers when there is a safeguarding concern
  • Be able to share information safely and legally
  • Be able to access help for a child/vulnerable adult when you have a safeguarding concern

Learning Outcomes:

  • To increase the confidence and knowledge in identifying safeguarding converns in children and vulnerable adults; knowing how to respond to patients and their parents/carers about whom there is a concern and to make clear the appropriate reporting pathways for professionals.
