Induction for New Educational Supervisors (ESs) 

Please arrive at 9:15am for registration for the session to start at 9:30am. 

Morning

Registration 9.15

Start 9.30 - 12 noon

Afternoon

Start 1pm - 3.30pm

Committee Room 3A First Floor Regatta Place. 

There is free parking at the venue. You will need to log your car registration with reception. There will be no lunch provided but please feel free to bring along any packed lunch, facilities to buy food are available near the venue.

Mandatory: Educational Supervisor

Provide an introduction and overview of Dental Foundation Training (DFT) within NHS England North West covering responsibilities, assessments and the expectations of your role.

Explain your ES responsibilities for the DFT year

Understand work-based assessments

Explain key aspects of adult learning

See how mentoring fits within your ES role

By the end of the session you should be able to:

Appreciate the relevance of feedback and its application

Start planning tutorials

Give an overview of the ePortfolio & understand what’s expected in term

Address issues around professionalism

Know where to seek assistance when required
