  • Aetiology and presentation
  • Referral pathway
  • Treatment modalities
  • Effects of treatment
  • Role of the Dental team in Primary Care
  • Oral Rehabilitation after treatment
Objectives

To provide an overview of Head and Neck Cancer and its contemporary management, the patient's journey and the role of Primary Care in this

Learning outcomes
  • To appreciate the aetiology and presentation of Head and Neck Cancers
  • To understand how to refer a patient with suspicious lesion and how the referral pathway works
  • To understand the patient journey from diagnosis to long term follow up and the multi-disciplinary team involved in their management
  • To understand the early and long term sequalae of Head and Neck Cancers
  • To understand their role in managing such patients
