Aims | Give overview of medical problems in dentistry, insight in when to refer and what questions to ask. |
Objectives | To discuss a range of medical problems and the impact they have on the delivery of dental care. Consider the barriers to care for patients with cognitive impairments eg: dementia. Consider issues regarding capacity and consent. |
Learning outcomes | Improved medical history taking. Greater confidence in managing patients with medical complexity. Improved knowledge of how and when to get additional advice. Greater understanding of special care dentistry services. |
