Aims
  • To introduce the national initiative Mini Mouth Care Matters
  • Understand the risks associated with poor oral health in hospitalised patients. 
  • To demonstrate and discuss the implementation of an oral health delivery programme at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and Manchester Royal Infirmary
Objectives
  • Present current issues associated with poor oral health in hospitalised patients and the need for nurse led improvement.
  • Discuss case reports of patients who have been managed by the Mini Mouth Care Matters pathway Report audit results and demonstrate in the value of oral health improvement programmes on hospital wards.
Learning outcomes

Delegates will understand the reasons for and promote oral health improvements within the hospital setting.
