DescriptionThis free hands-on course will give practical advice on the use of the Hall Technique as a non-invasive treatment that prevents progression of carries in decayed deciduous molar teeth. Dental Educational Supervisors will gain greater confidence in identifying when and how to use the Hall Technique and mentor Foundation Dentists to do the same.
Additional information

This course is a mandatory requirement for Dental Educational Supervisors in the North Western Area and counts towards educational session requirements. 

To enable Dental Education Supervisors to mentor their foundation dentist in the effective use of the Hall Technique, attendees will receive a free Hall crown kit.

Aims

To provide hands-on experience of the management of caries in the primary dentition and the use of preformed metal crowns using the Hall technique

Objectives
  • Discuss the indications of the Hall Technique and where it may be considered best practice
  • Identify the Hall Technique as an effective way of managing decay in a primary molar
  • Gain hands on experience for placement of preformed metal crowns on a deciduous molar
  • Select appropriate restorative materials for various clinical situations in the carious primary dentition
Learning outcomes
  • Delegates will be able to transfer their skills into everyday general practice to manage decay in the primary dentition.
  • Educational Supervisors will feel more confident and competent in identifying when to use and applying the Hall Technique and mentor Foundation Dentists to do the same.
