Aims

To enable participants, GDPs and DCPs, to undertake an Appraisal that leads to a robust PDP and eCPD plan, and be able to apply this knowledge to appraising others.

Objectives
  • Present an overview of the appraisal process
  • Review the importance of reflective practice and life-long learning
  • Provide the opportunity for participants to work in pairs to undertake an appraisal resulting in a Personal Development Plan that follows GDC Enhanced CPD Guidelines and includes educational aims
  • Discuss how to implement Appraisal in General Dental Practice, for GDPs and DCPs
Learning outcomes

Following the session delegates will:

  • be aware reflective practice and how develop it
  • understand the appraisal process and will have worked on GDC based personal development plan 
  • have had the opportunity to conduct an appraisal and know how to implement this in their practice.
