To understand how to manage the anxious paediatric patient, exploring the use of both non pharmacological and pharmacological methods.

Objectives
  • Understand the importance of assessment
  • Explore anxiety in children Understand differences in anatomy and physiology
  • Describe the different methods of treating anxious children
  • Define the guidelines on the use of conscious sedation in children
  • Discuss the indications, technique and complications of conscious sedation in children
