This course will be carried out over 2 webinars via MS Teams. Part one must be completed before you can attend part 2.

Aims

This session aims to raise awareness on regulations surrounding Ionising Radiation Regulations (IR1999) along with the recent changes to IR(ME)R

Objectives
  • Recognise the hazards from exposure to radiation.
  • Identify the appropriate records required for the radiation protection file.
  • Develop a robust QA process in line with current regulations.
  • Differentiate between expected radiation dose and dose reference levels.
  • Discuss how to comply with the changes to IRMER17.
  • Recognise the responsibilities of key personnel in the context of the regulations. 
Learning outcomes

Delegates will have a clear understanding of the statutory principles, regulations and risks surrounding Ionising Radiation Regulations and IRMER17 and take away practical steps to comply with legislation.
