Aims
  • The aim of this presentation is to offer an experiential learning experience on the topic of eating disorders.
Objectives
  • To present the current state of knowledge regarding the psychological processes in eating disorders.
  • To share my own experience working therapeutically with people living with eating disorders, and what I have learnt.
  • To invite reflection on your experience of treating people living with eating disorders To explore what it ‘feels like’ to live with an eating disorder, and why this knowledge might be helpful for clinical practice
Learning outcomes

Following this session, delegates will be able to reflect on personal clinical experience with people living with eating disorders and consider ways in which an empathic understanding may contribute to practitioner-patient relationships.
