To equip the participants with the skills and knowledge to be able to identify, respond to, and report safeguarding concerns in children and vulnerable adults in dental practice.

Objectives

Be able to identify what is a safeguarding concern in dental practice in children and vulnerable adults

Be able to respond appropriately to patients and their parents/carers when there is a safeguarding concern

Be able to share information safely and legally

Be able to access help for a child/vulnerable adult when you have a safeguarding concern

Learning Outcomes

To increase the confidence and knowledge in identifying safeguarding concerns in children and vulnerable adults; knowing how to respond to patients and their parents/carers about whom there is a concern and to make clear the appropriate reporting pathways for professionals
