Aims
  • To highlight the changes in diagnostic terminology for Periodontitis patients based on the 2017 Classification system.
  • Allow practitioners to be able to use the new system more confidently in general practice.
Objectives
  • To review the reasons for changing the classification system.
  • To show how and why the BSP's implementation of the 2017 World Workshop is subtly different but simpler.
  • To allow practitioners attending the lecture to use the new system accurately in practice.
Learning outcomes
  • Understand the new periodontal classification system.
  • Be able to use the new system to make a contemporary diagnosis in general practice.
