Aims

To increase awareness of Primary Care aspects of Children’s Dentistry

Objectives
  • To increase awareness of the treatment of trauma often seen in primary care
  • To develop an understanding of when and how to treat deciduous teeth in primary care
  • Review of commonly used restorative materials used in paedodontics
  • To appreciate orthodontic implications in primary care paedodontics

Learning Outcomes

  • FDs will be able to confidently treat commonly encountered trauma cases
  • FDs will be able to compare the different restorative materials for use in paediatric dentistry
  • FDs will be able to develop treatment plans in Primary Care dentistry which take into account the unique nature of that setting
  • FDs will understand the orthodontic implications of primary care in children’s dentistry
