The session will start at 6pm with a buffet meal allowing time for peer review and networking amongst participants. This will be followed by a lecture with time for discussion.

Catering

A selection of vegetarian/non vegetarian options will be made available, however please be aware that we are unable to cater for special dietary requirements such as Gluten Free, Nut Allergy, Vegan. We therefore suggest that delegates bring their own food if you have a specialist requirement.

Aims

The aim is to provide clinicians with the background necessary to recognise the presentation of common facial pain conditions and understand their management.

Objectives
  • Introduce new international classification of facial pain, 
  • Describe the signs and symptoms of neuropathic facial pain,
  • Develop an understanding of mechanisms underlying neuropathic facial pain 
  • Introduce an appreciation of the management of these patients.
Learning outcomes

At the end of the presentation clinicians should: 

  • Be able to recognize the presentation of some facial pain conditions
  • Have knowledge of the management of these conditions 
  • have an understanding of monitoring and points to discuss with patients
