To explore the implications of upholding children’s rights in paediatric dentistry

Objectives
  • Provide an overview of children’s rights in relation to paediatric dentistry
  • Focus on children with disabilities, who have a right to extra help and special care
  • Consider how we can uphold children’s rights, using case examples illustrating the right to the best dental care possible, the right to information and the right to protection from harm discuss children’s rights in relation to paediatric dentistry
  • consider ways of improving dental care for children with disabilities
  • use a range of tips and techniques to help provide the best dental care possible, information and protection from harm
Learning outcomes

Following the session attendees will have considered ways of improving dental care for children with disabilities, have gained an understanding of children's rights in relation to paediatrics, and have range of tips and techniques at their disposal to help provide the best dental care for their patients.
