Aims | Summarise aetiology, diagnosis, and treatment planning concepts for tooth surface loss with reference to the academic literature. |
Objectives | By the end of the session, candidates will be able to: · Describe the aetiology of tooth surface loss (TSL) · Diagnose erosion, attrition, abrasion and abfraction · Describe preventative regimes for patients with TSL and how to monitor its progression · Prescribe appropriate records for treatment planning · Differentiate the Dahl Principle from Full mouth rehabilitation · Know how and when to use a diagnostic wax up . Develop a step-by-step treatment plan based on wax up |
Learning outcomes | Participants will demonstrate knowledge related to diagnosis, aetiology and prevention of toothwear and will be able to take records to plan for treatment. |
