Aims

To provide delegates with the theory, evidence, treatment and management protocols of Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) for Periodontal and Dental Implant Maintenance

Objectives

During the session delegates will

  • Discuss the role of the dental hygienist / therapist in the assessment, treatment and management of the patient with dental implants and the patient requiring periodontal maintenance.
  • Explore the equipment, instruments and materials necessary to provide adequate support using the GBT concept to these patients.
  • Examine the necessary skills and knowledge to competently and confidently provide assessment, treatment and supporting care for these patients.
  • Determine when referral for more specialist care is necessary
Learning outcomes

By the end of the course, the delegate will understand how to:
