To understand the management of cleft lip and palate from birth to adulthood.

Objectives

Provide an understanding of:

  • the aetiology and epidemiology of cleft
  • multi- disciplinary care of cleft patients
  • primary and secondary surgery for cleft 
  • outcomes of cleft care 
Learning outcomes

Explain the causes of clefting.

Describe the pathway of care for cleft patients.

Discuss the multidisciplinary nature of cleft care.

Knowledge of main outcomes of cleft care.
