DescriptionThis is a combined course comprised of Online modules and 7 virtually taught sessions. This course has been developed by the BDA to ensure that Dental Nurses receive the knowledge, experience and competencies to support patients with their Oral Health.

Please read the following information carefully before considering an application:

The BDA Online course will begin for delegates on Monday 12th September 2022.

The taught sessions will be held via Microsoft Teams on the dates below:

  • Thursday 15th September 2022- 9:30-12:30
  • Thursday 13th October 2022 - 9:30-12:30
  • Thursday 10th November 2022 - 9:30-12:30
  • Thursday 15th December 2022 - 9:30-12:30
  • Thursday 12th January 2023 - 9:30-12:30
  • Thursday 16th February 2023 - 9:30-12:30
  • Thursday 9th March 2023 - 9:30-12:30

To gain this award, students will need to:

  • Attend all seven study sessions
  • Hold a recognised dental nursing qualification
  • Be registered with the GDC
  • Obtain consent from a dentist who is willing to support your practical work
  • Have access to a variety of patients
  • Have availability of a computer with internet and Audio Visual capabilities including Camera and Microphone.

Exam date: Saturday 18th March 2022.

It is expected that by applying for this course the student agrees that they are able to be released from practice for each virtual teaching session.

Registration for each session will begin at 9:00am

The qualification will be awarded by the BDA and will require an additional exam fee of £124. This is payable directly to the BDA.

All CPD hours will be awarded by the BDA

Please note this qualification is subsidised by Health Education England North West

Only 12 places are available on this course. Places will be allocated on an application basis only. One applicant per practice only.
