DescriptionThis full day course will provide an update on the latest developments in regards to infection control and decontamination. Delegates will learn essential and best practice quality requirements of the Health Technical Memorandum 01-05, auditing, validation and how to implement changes reducing the risk of infection in the workplace.

Aims

This workshop aims to provide knowledge and skills to promote good infection prevention and control practices within the workplace for the safety of patients and staff

Objectives
  • Implement training and audit programmes in the work place to demonstrate compliance with HTM 01-05
  • Identify the correct validation and testing of all dental equipment
  • Implement Standard Precautions in the work place to prevent Health Care Associated Infections
  • Identify the different routes of transmission
  • Identify the risks associated with infection and cross infection
  • Implement changes in the workplace to reduce the risk of infection
