  • To update teams on current legislation & practice of Safeguarding children and Vulnerable Adults and gain knowledge of context of Safeguarding within a dental practice
Objectives
  • Understand the legal & historical context of safeguarding children and young people
  • Have knowledge of the categories and their definitions, signs and symptoms of child abuse
  • Know what to do if you’re worried a child is being abused
  • Understand why & how to share information in relation to safeguarding children and young people
  • Develop an awareness of solutions & barriers to safeguarding children within health
  • Gain knowledge of the context of child protection within a health environment
  • Understand the legal and historical context of safeguarding vulnerable adults
  • Increased awareness of the categories of abuse and signs and symptoms of vulnerable adult abuse
