DescriptionThis course is a Level 3 City and Guilds qualification that involves completing a portfolio of evidence along with direct observations within your decontamination area. A pass in the online examination is required in order to obtain the qualification. This course consists of seven session and on line examination.

Registration for this course is 9.15am

This course will be booked in order of delegates applying. All delegates interested in this course need to fill in an application form (attached in the course documents)  to confirm  their agreement with the terms and conditions. Aims

To assess the theoretical knowledge and practical skills for the individual learner to work in the dental setting , decontaminating instruments and devices as part of their normal job role.

Learning outcomes
  • identify the different layouts of the dental decontamination area, the flow of instruments , the resource requirements to equip the area and how best to practice can be achieved
  • demonstrate the decontamination process within a dental area, including the transportation of instruments , the management of waste as well as cleaning, inspecting, sterilising, and storing instruments in line with organisational and legal requirements
  • describe and demonstrate the purpose and process for validating and maintaining dental equipment and instruments in line with manufacturers guidelines ,organisational and legal requirements
  • describe infection diseases , their routes of transmission and methods of preventing cross infection 
  • achieve level 3 in certificate in dental decontamination
