Aims | Infection Control: - To discuss recommendations of the HTM 01-05 document and to give an overview of decontamination best practice.
Reflection, Learning and Enhanced CPD: - To raise awareness of the importance of having an effective personal and professional development plan (PDP) within the context of enhanced CPD and provide some strategies for delegates to improve their skills in creating a PDP.
Improving Communication; - Delegates will be more able to show that they care, be valued more highly and communicate more effectively with patients

Objectives | Infection Control: - To identify the requirements of essential and best practice in relation to dental decontamination
- To discuss the requirements of equipment validation
- To recognise the flow of dental instruments within the decontamination room to maintain infection control
Reflection, Learning and Enhanced CPD: - Discuss, with colleagues, the concept and purpose of a PDP
- Share ideas about how to develop an effective PDP
- Consider the role of reflection in creating a PDP
Improving Communication By the end of the session delegates will be able to: - understand that communication is the most important factor in how we are judged by patients
