DescriptionThis course relates to members of the IRMER team who are qualified to take radiographs, and translates IRMER requirements into a day to day practical workings in practice. The course is particularly highlighting problems with positioning radiographs in the mouth and will give hints and tips on how to overcome these.

Aims

The aim of the course is to comply with GDC requirements and provide highly recommended verifiable CPD for the delegates.  It will cover many of the key points of the new regulations, IRMER2017and IRR17.

Objectives

Increasing the confidence of Dentists and radiographically qualified Dental Care Professionals when taking Dental radiographs and update their knowledge of factors relating to quality assurance and dose limitation to patients and staff in dental radiography.

Learning outcomes
  • be aware of their responsibilities under current IRMER 17and IRR17 legislation with clarification of the regulations as they relate to Dental Practice and salaried services.
  • understand the different types of digital systems available and how to overcome practical issues when working with them in practice.
  • Have a better understanding of the requirements needed to maintain a processor which consistently provides high quality images.
  • Be more confident in dealing with patients presenting with technical radiographic challenges and have an increased knowledge of positioning for intra and extra oral radiographic images.
