Learn how to take high quality digital dental photographs using correct positioning and settings and explore quality resources for your practice. A camera will be provided, however if you would prefer to learn with your own camera, please bring it with you.

Aims

To provide enough information through presentation, demonstrations, and hands-on experience to give the dentist or other members of the dental team confidence to choose the correct camera, settings, and positioning for excellent clinical photographs.

Objectives
  • Gain understanding what camera equipment and accessories are required and why.
  • Choose the correct camera settings for predictable results. 
  • Discuss many uses of photography within the dental practice, in particular the importance of medicolegal documentation.
  • Learn about positioning yourself, your assistant, and the patient to be able to take several key photographic views
  • Recognise the most important sources of further information, including websites, articles and textbooks
  • Practice taking high quality portraiture images for orthodontic assessment and documentation
  • Learn how to communicate better with their laboratory by utilising vectoring of photographs and the use of cross polarisation
Learning outcomes

At the end of the session you will:
