  • To revise the aetiology, process and management of dental caries in enamel and dentine.
  • Provide the opportunity for an open discussion/peer review.
Objectives
  • Discuss the aetiology of dental caries including oral and external factors
  • Review the histological progression of caries through enamel and dentine
  • Discuss the reparative actions of the pulp-dentine complex
  • Discuss non-operative and operative management of dental caries
  • Describe the steps in dentine caries removal and pulp protection
  • Peer review – discuss clinical cases/concerns in a relaxed, informal environment.
