Aims

Aim of this course is to update delegates’ knowledge and practical skills on current concepts of periodontal diagnosis and treatment planning from basics to surgical and non-surgical interventions.

Objectives

This combination of hands –on and lecture session will update practitioners in:

• Current concepts of periodontal diagnosis and treatment planning

• Risk factors and periodontal treatment pathways: full-mouth vs staged approach

• Non-surgical therapy, use of antimicrobials, reassessment and supportive therapy

• Basic periodontal surgical techniques through simulated teaching with practical, hands-on element on pigs jaws

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, practitioners should be able to: 

· gain an understanding of current concepts in periodontal assessment, treatment planning, non-surgical therapy and its limitations

· feel more confident applying basic periodontal surgery skills in practice
