DescriptionThis programme will provide up-skilling for those dental professionals who wish to support colleagues. That support could be for development or for colleagues in difficulty. Participants may perform the role of Mentor, Development Adviser or Educational Supervisor. The whole programme covers the GDC requirements for the role of Development Adviser.

To qualify for a place on this programme you must be able to attend all four sessions, if you book a place and fail to attend you will be charged the full cost of £150;

Aims

To review the essential requirements to effectively support a registrant in difficulty

Objectives

To

  • Explore work-based tools, application of standards and PDP mapping
  • Consider the importance of report writing and communication when supporting registrants
  • Improved understanding of how equality, diversity and inclusion underpins aspects of performance.
Learning outcomes

By the end of the session, participants will:

  • Have a deeper appreciation of audit protocols and templates, case-based discussion and tailoring of patient surveys.
  • Gain a better understanding of performance and governance for registrants experiencing difficulty
  • Outline how communication underpins engagement and interactions
  • Have a greater appreciation of supporting the development of registrants in difficulty.
